Siam Cement Group
SCG, which stands for The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (Siam Cement Group), is one of ASEAN's (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) leading and oldest business conglomerates, founded in Thailand in 1913. SCG is a major industrial conglomerate that has evolved from its origin as Thailand's first cement manufacturer into a diversified group with core businesses in three main areas. It emphasizes innovation, high-value-added products (HVA), and sustainable solutions.

“Thousands of our employees use Kissflow, and this platform has the right future”
Challenges faced
SCG faced four main challenges:
-
Resistance to change - A 100+ year old company with deeply entrenched processes and "we've always done it this way" mindset
-
Fragmentation - Each business unit selected their own software and processes independently, leading to repetitive systems and overspending
-
IT bottlenecks - New initiatives took months or years due to SAP integrations and compliance requirements
Transformation fatigue - Multiple past transformation waves (Microsoft, ERP migrations), and now AI requires starting over again with a completely different approach
Solution
SCG approached its transformation with a simple idea. Instead of rolling out a large-scale system from the start, they chose to begin small and let the results speak for themselves.
The journey started with just 50 users across two business units. The goal was to test how easily teams could build and manage workflows on their own. As teams began using Kissflow, the ease of creating and replicating workflows quickly became evident. What stood out was not just the speed, but how naturally adoption spread across teams.
As one leader shared, when something works well, others notice and want to use it too. This is exactly how adoption grew within SCG. Without heavy push from leadership, more teams started exploring the platform. The user base steadily expanded from 50 to 100, then to 200, 400, and eventually 800 users.
As usage increased, SCG began looking at how to scale this across the organization. To remove limitations and address internal security requirements, they transitioned to an unlimited licensing model with private hosting. Before making this decision, the team conducted thorough due diligence, including evaluating Kissflow’s long-term roadmap and meeting directly with the product and R&D teams.
Over time, Kissflow became the foundation for managing processes across SCG. It handled the flow of work, while AI was introduced to add intelligence to decision-making, policy checks, and data interpretation.
This combination began to have an impact across several areas of the business. In logistics, pricing calculations that were once manual became automated using machine learning, allowing a small team to manage over 1,000 transactions each month. In recruitment, handling large volumes of applications became more manageable with AI-driven screening and data extraction.
Similarly, medical claims processing was streamlined by automatically validating and approving routine submissions. The organization also moved over 10,000 employees to a centralized business trip system, replacing a process that would have taken months to build internally. In document processing, AI helped interpret and extract data across multiple languages without relying on predefined templates.
Looking ahead, SCG plans to extend this approach further into accounting and accounts payable. The focus is on reducing repetitive work, speeding up processes like reimbursements, and rethinking how work gets done in an AI-driven environment.
Results
- Scaled from 50 users to unlimited licensing across the conglomerate
- Reduced logistics pricing team to 5 people handling 1,000+ transactions/month
- Migrated 10,000 employees to business trip workflows
- Eliminated the need for 3,000+ OCR templates through AI document understanding
- Enabled cross-border replication of workflows across Thailand, Indonesia, China, Japan, and the US
