Challenges faced

Manual processes. All the approval processes were scattered across thousands of email threads.

Burden on IT. The IT team was stretched thin. They lacked the bandwidth to handle the hundreds of business requests in their backlog, widening the business-IT gap.

Increased expenses. Due to the shortage of resources, they heavily relied on third-party developers and multiple solutions that incurred heavy costs.
Solution
SN Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP) started using Kissflow in November 2021. Before Kissflow, they struggled with several challenges. One key challenge was handling the complexity of maintaining in-house developed systems in multiple technology platforms. They heavily relied on expensive third-party developers and solutions as the IT team was stretched thin.
Maria Theresa Cabigon (Mitch), the Chief Information Officer at SN Aboitiz Power, highlighted the severity of the situation. She said, “Some of the system technologies that we used were becoming obsolete, and we had difficulty addressing or remediating the ever-evolving security vulnerabilities. There was also an increase in automation and integration requirements of our process owners to improve efficiency and effectiveness of data capture, monitoring of records, and approval process that was previously done via emails.”
With Kissflow, SNAP could automate all the manual processes and save expenses on separate software development costs without burdening IT. Mitch introduced a revolutionary strategy for SNAP with a Citizen Development (CD) program to empower process owners to solve their own problems using Kissflow. The CD program bridged the business-IT gap and accelerated Digital Transformation at SNAP, driving efficiency and effectiveness in business operations.
SNAP successfully migrated over 95 processes onto Kissflow, unifying and streamlining these previously disparate systems into a single platform in just six months. Mitch was eager to highlight the various custom applications built using Kissflow and the role of Kissflow Apps in burning through their growing IT backlog.

When asked to imagine work without Kissflow, Mitch said, “Losing Kissflow will disrupt our operational efficiency, complicate application development, potentially increase costs, hinder integration, and negatively affect user experience."
