Meet the KiSSFLOW Team: DSK
December 29th, 2016 • Kissuகிசு
How do you make KiSSFLOW great?
I make sure KiSSFLOW’s website works 24/7 and the sales team gets all the leads.
What is your signature work with KiSSFLOW?
I helped create a feature called Wishlist in KiSSFLOW. It allows users to submit requests for features they want to see in KiSSFLOW.
What do you like about working at KiSSFLOW?
I love the freedom we have here. If I have work assigned, I’m not being pushed every day to complete it. At the same time, we deliver results within the stipulated deadline. Also, people who have been here longer are always open to any suggestions I might have about the work we are doing.
If you were to give a title to the story of your life, what would it be?
‘D. Suresh Kumar S/O Dhanalakshmi.’ There is actually a Tamil movie with a similar name. The movie plot has certain parts that match my life, like how the protagonist was raised by a single mother.
What are you watching right now?
The last TV series I watched was Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Which is your all-time favorite TV series?
Undoubtedly, Breaking Bad. I’m a huge Walter White fan.
What’s your favorite childhood nostalgia?
My fondest childhood memories go back to the days when there used to be small lakes and mango groves in the sprawling farmland around Nanmangalam, near my home. During my schooldays, I went there with my friends; we would pluck mangoes, play in the lakes, fish, and cook fish in a farmer’s shed.
How do you reboot yourself when you are burned out?
I go on a leave for a couple of days to take a break. Later, I try to create something new, such as writing some new code or a blog post. Creating something from scratch rejuvenates my brain after being unused for a while.
What excites you about the future?
I’m moving from my current position to join the product engineering team as a Full Stack Python Developer. I’m excited to imagine that every code I write from that point on will reach several million people every day and affect their lives.
What would be your advice to a person who wants to be a Web Developer like you?
Stay abreast of the latest technological developments, be aware of all the latest tools and technologies available in your field, and have a creative mind on how to integrate them. Most importantly, try to accomplish more without writing a lot of code.
What’s something no one else knows about you?
Very few people at work know that I have a blog where I write about tech tutorials, code, and web development.
What is great about your hometown?
Tamilnadu is known as ‘vandharai vazhavaikum ooru’ (a place where anyone can live). Chennai is the epitome of that belief, because the city offers opportunities for everyone who is willing to achieve their goals and work for it.
Who is the person you most admire?
That would be none other than my mom. She worked hard to raise me and my elder brother single-handedly and made us capable of what we are today.
From the KiSSFLOW Team:
What we love about DSK?
You never get a ‘No’ from him. We have asked him to do all sorts of things that sometimes push him to his limits, but he ends up doing them anyways.
Also, he would happily teach you something you don’t know without being annoyed.
Most notable for:
When he came for his job interview, we gave him a 15 minutes time to solve a code. But he finished the problem much sooner than that. He is also known for attending tech events, hackathons, and bot building workshops on weekends.
How do you know when he is in the flow?
He will wear his headphones and be totally zoned out about what’s happening around him. He will not listen to you even if you try talking to him. He will just be at it.
He has a telepathic ability to read people’s minds. For example, if a person walks up to him to talk about an idea, he would have already done it. He’s Mr. Fix It, the go-to guy for solving anything that others are clueless about.
What would DSK do if he had a lot of money to spend?
He would probably backpack to the Himalayas and meditate on a mountaintop.
