Job Description

A content writer is responsible for delivering the textual content for a wide variety of uses.

At the core, a good writer is a good thinker–someone who can arrange thoughts as words in a way that connects and communicates.

  • Deliver high-quality textual content for these types of requests
    1. Articles
    2. eBooks
    3. Slides
    4. Adword copy
    5. Webpage copy
    6. Banner ads
    7. Email
  • Independently ask questions about requests to fully understand the scope of the project
  • Proofread your own work and that of others as required

Required skills

A kind and empathetic spirit

Basic understanding of how to understand and write for different audiences

The ability to take a topic and develop an outline

The ability to take an outline and flesh it out

The ability to do research for a topic you don’t know about

The ability to write an introduction to an article that grabs the attention, presents a problem, and clearly identifies an audience

The ability to generate multiple compelling headlines

The understanding of what a style guide is and its importance

A firm knowledge of grammar, particularly:

  1. Points of view
  2. Verb tenses
  3. Usage of the article
